Three ethnic rebel groups, identified as the northern brotherhood alliance, mentioned in a message on second anniversary of Monywa People's Strike Steering Committee that it respects and recognizes the political aspirations of Myanmar people and always stands together with those who share a common position and a common goal.
The ethnic armed groups namely Taang (PSLF/TNLA), Kokant (MNTJP/MNDAA) and Arakanese (ULA/AA) have been fighting for self-determination and a genuine federal democracy in Myanmar.
On 9 February, on the second anniversary of Monywa public strike in Sagaing division, the alliance sent the message.

It also paid tribute to those Burmese people, who sacrificed their lives and many others losing wealth for freedom from the military rulers during the Spring Revolution.
"We, the revolutionary forces, are expecting inspiration from the alliance as it has more experience on the ground. We thank them for recognizing us," said a revolutionary soldier from Sagaing.
The Sagaing division supports many revolutionary forces, and it also comprises many large townships which have been under the martial law, declared by the Burmese military forces on 2 February last.
