A woman was reportedly killed by an artillery shell,
fired by a junta battalion based in Buthidaung township of Rakhine State.
The deceased is identified as Daw Mya Win (36 years
old) from Done Chaung (Rakhine) village.
A resident of Buthidaung informed Narinjara News that
on 30 April, an artillery shell fired by the 234th light infantry battalion
exploded in Done Chaung (Rakhine) village.
“The battalion fired three artillery shells, with one
landing over the village. The shrapnel struck Daw Mya Win's left hand and
abdomen resulting in her immediate death," added the resident.
