Two Rohingya men killed in Cox's Bazar camp gunfight

Two Rohingya refugees were killed in a gunfight betweenArakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) and Rohingya Solidarity Organization(RSO) members in a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar on Mondaymorning. 

 

One of the deceased was identified as Nurul Bashar, 55. Theidentity of the other victim was not immediately known.

 

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Hossainsaid: “The gunfight between Arsa and the RSO began early Monday morning at theJamtoli Lal Pahar camp. The exchange of fire lasted for a while. Sensing thepresence of the administration, the criminals fled. The bodies of two peoplewere found during the search.”

 

“The bodies were recovered and sent to Cox's Bazar SadarHospital for autopsy. Further procedures are underway,” he added.
