Six members of a Muslim family, who entered illegallyfrom Bangladesh, were arrested in Buthidaung township, said a statement issuedby Rakhine State military council.
The junta officials went to Myaung Nar village underButhidaung township on Friday following an input about the family.
“During inspections,they found the family of Amin Ali (37 years old). There were two women and three children in the family,” said a source closeto the junta officials.
They took shelter in Kutupalaung refugee camp ofCox’s Bazar locality in south Bangladesh for many years. They left the campwithout informing others.
TheMuslim family moved from Teknaf township, a border township of Bangladesh, toRathedaung township of Rakhine State with an aim to arrive back at theirprevious place in Myaung Nar village.
Initially the family arrived at Ah Angu Maw Kon Danvillage and then proceeded to Akar Taung village under Rathedaung Township. They hired boatsand entered Buthidaung with no valid documents.
A resident of Buthidaung said that often thoserefugees leave Bangladesh to arrive in Malaysia looking for jobs, but sometimesthe brokers cheat them. On many occasions they are arrested on the way.
But this family came to RakhineState to live in their former village, added the resident.
