The junta forces conducted airstrikes on residential
villages under Minbya and Myebon townships, resulting in injuries to many
civilians. Both the townships are now under the control of the Arakan Army
(AA).
Residents of Thay Kan village under Minbya
reported that the soldiers conducted three airstrikes using a jet
fighter. The airstrikes targeted the village for 10 minutes starting at 11 pm
on 29 March.
An elderly woman from the village said that due to the airstrikes, the village abbot and some residents sustained injuries by shrapnel. The village monastery and seven other houses were destroyed.
The villagers reported that the recent airstrikes on
Thay Kan village was the fourth occurrence and it damaged around 30
buildings of schools, monasteries and private homes.
In the early morning of 30 March, the airstrikes were
also conducted on Sa Nyin Kone village under Myebon using a jet fighter and a
helicopter. However, the extent of damage and casualties are yet to be known.
