The
military council troops, stationed in Khaya Taung mountain of Kachin State,
attacked the camps of Arakan Army (AA) on 29 September. It was the repeated
attack on AA members at KIA Laiza headquarters with heavy weapons.
Earlier on 28 September, the Khaya Taung mountain based junta forces attacked the
AA camps in Mon Lai Khat with heavy weapons.
During
the attack, an AA captain was killed and some others were injured. They fired
again with heavy weapons on AA camps.
"The
army's attack was intentional,” said a person close to AA.
Speaking
to Narinjara News, he also informed that there was no injury to any individual
because of shooting.
Regarding
the attack, AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha stated that if the provocation
continues towards ULA/AA, they will also respond with stern actions.
"A
cease fire is in place across Rakhine State. So in such a situation, the attack
on AA bases is very unfortunate. This kind of activity will deteriorate the
trust gained after the ceasefire. It should be avoided and the Burmese army
must take the initiative," he asserted.
