Junta Airdrops Weapons and Supplies Again with parachutes to No 5 border police headquarters in Maungdaw

Naung Min Thu, Narinjara News, 22 October 2024

Using Y-12 aircraft, the junta airdropped guns and supplies once more at around 10:00 am on October 21. They were delivered with parachutes to the 5th Border Guard Police headquarters (NaKhaKha-5), which is located in Maungdaw Town on Arakan State's western border.

"I witnessed the junta employing Y-12 aircraft to airdrop food and munitions to the NaKhaKha-5 battalion. Two packages were dropped at once. According to a local, there were perhaps thirty shipments with parachutes overall.

Furthermore, local witnesses reported that the junta conducted fighter jet attacks near the Arakan Army (AA)-attacked NaKhaKha-5 battalion on October 21 around 9:45 a.m.

"We observed continuous jet fighter airstrikes close to the NaKhaKha-5 battalion. The battle is still going on. Another neighbor remarked, "Even at dawn, we can hear the sounds of warfare and the artillery shells fired by the junta fleet."

The battle is at its most fierce, with the junta air force using fighter jets to conduct daily airstrikes over the NaKhaKha-5 unit in Maungdaw. In the meantime, Y-12 planes are still dropping food and weaponry.

While the junta is retaliating with frequent airstrikes using heavy bombs, the Arakan Army (AA) is waging an aggressive offensive to seize the only surviving 5th Border Guard Police Battalion (NaKhaKha-5) in Maungdaw.
