Junta’s airstrikes on Kyeintali church kill 11 including 2 children, injure 11 others

The junta forces conducted an airstrike on a church in Kyeintali town of  Gwa township in Arakan State that killed 11 people including two children and injured  11 others.

 

The victims are identified as Ma Nyein Yati (12), Maung Hla Min Tun (15), Daw Hla San (30), Daw Nyunt Tin (63), Ko Pyae Phyo Aung (29),  U Kyaw Sein (63), Daw Kyu Kyu Win (61), U Min Tun Thein (38),  Ma Zin Myo Tun (21), Daw Hla Hla Win (65) and Daw Khin Moe Wai (37).


They all hailed  from ward number  2 in Kyeintali urban area.

 

The injured individuals include  Daw Khin La Pyae, Daw May Myint, Nant Thar Phyu, Ei Shwe Zin, Daw Ci Ci, Daw Khin Hla, U Tin Ohn, Tin Zaw Htwe, Shin Mway La, Khin Zaw Htwe and Maung Win Tin. The residents reported that the airstrike was conducted at around 1  pm on 15 August.

 

The military junta is now deliberately targeting civilian areas in the Arakan region with airstrikes. 

 

On 10 August, a jet fighter attacked the Mrauk-U hotel intersection along the road to Shaitthaung temple in Kyet Zay ward of Mrauk-U, which resulted in the death of six civilians and injuries to many others.
