Min Shin Saw, Narinjara News, 16 October 2024

The junta forces conducted a series of airstrikes on Pauk Inn Ywar Thit village under  Taungup township of Arakan State, resulting in serious injuries to two women.

The injured women are identified as Daw Than Than Myint (61)  and Daw Khin Myint Wai (39).

They sustained  injuries as the junta soldiers launched airstrikes on a monastery and their house on 14 October using a fighter jet.

"The bombs were dropped at around 4 pm, causing slight damage to the monastery. Since the houses of the injured women were close to the monastery, they also suffered,"  said a local resident.

They sustained injuries in their necks, left arms, right thighs and hips. Currently they are receiving emergency medical care at a clinic.

The social activists in the region are claiming that the junta forces are committing war crimes by cutting-off phone lines in Taungup locality and launching airstrikes on villagers and religious buildings.
