Two missing
male residents of Buthidaung were recovered after they were killed and
buried by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) terrorist outfit on 10
October, said a statement issued by the Arakan Army (AA).
“The bodies
of two civilians, who went missing from Ywar Thit of number 2 ward in
Buthidaung locality of the Arakan region, were found beheaded and buried by the
ARSA Muslim rebels," added the statement.
The victims
are identified as U San Shwe Maung (67) and U Maung Mya Aung (65).
Their
bodies were
recovered from the yard of a house in Gone Nar (Muslim) village
under Buthidaung township, at around 7:40 am on 10 October.
A joint
team consisting of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government, department of
law enforcement & public security (DLEPS) forces, administrative staff and
forensic personnel excavated both the bodies. After completing necessary
inspections, the bodies were reburied following necessary rituals.
"Family
members of both the victims properly reburied the bodies close to the site
where they were traced," added the statement.
Now the AA
fighters are actively chasing the ARSA rebels who killed both the
innocent villagers.
In another
incident on 6 October, the ARSA rebels ambushed a civilian vehicle which
was returning from the market in northern Maungdaw and it resulted in the death
of an Arakanese woman and injuries to four others.
On 7
October at around 1:30 pm, they ambushed three AA fighters, who were looking
for the Buthidaung victims. One AA fighter was killed and two others sustained
injuries.
Earlier,
the ARSA rebels arrested four individuals, including three teenagers, who went
missing while fishing on 30 September in Kaing Gyi (Mro) village located in
southern Maungdaw township, revealed the villagers.
The missing
individuals include U Saing Win (45), his two sons namely Maung Lin Gyi (15)
& Maung Ah Mun (12) and his nephew Maung D Kaw (14), all of whom belong to
the Mro community.
They went
fishing at Let Wae creek in Mayu mountains in the morning hours and did not
return to the village.
While
searching for them in the area, the AA fighters witnessed a small ARSA camp and
they burned it down on 4 October.
