The Arakan Army (AA) has captured Yan Aung Pyin
outpost in Maungdaw township of Rakhine State after a 5-hour long battle, said
a statement.
It added that the outpost refused to surrender and
hence the AA fighters launched an offensive on 23 February and finally
succeeded by 12:15 pm.
The AA reiterated their stand that they will capture
all the remaining camps in its vicinity.
Meanwhile, the AA fighters targeted number 9 advanced
training school near Kanni village, which is now the sole active base in Minbya
locality. The 550th light infantry battalion in Ponnagyun township also
faces the offensive.
The junta forces persisted in conducting airstrikes
over Ramree township. The AA fighters
attacked many designated operational targets.
Now they are focusing on all military camps in
Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Buthidaung, Maungdaw and Minbya townships, which have
not surrendered.
