AA successfully captures Ponnagyun’s Myoma PS

 The Arakan Army (AA) successfully captured Myoma police station in Ponnagyun township of Rakhine State on 22 February.

 

Currently, the AA fighters are engaged in strategic battles against the 550th light infantry battalion, which is the sole battalion of  Ponnagyun, situated 21 miles away from Sittwe.

 

"The AA fighters continue  engaging in strategic battles against the military camps, tactical operation command bases, battalions and division headquarters in Rathedaung, Buthidaung, Maungdaw and Ponnagyun townships,” said a statement issued by the AA.

 

It also added that  offensives are being carried out continuously to complete the capture of various junta camps.

 

The AA fighters are also fighting against number 9 advanced training school near Kanni village under  Minbya township.

 

They launched intense attacks on the training school from 18 to 22 February.

 

The  military bases in Sittwe, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung and Buthidaung townships went on firing artillery shells on the towns and villages.

 

The junta also conducted airstrikes on  Ramree locality using jet fighters and Y12 aircrafts at around 5 pm on Friday.

 

As the AA fighters continue its offensive on designated operational targets and maintain its  effort to capture the remaining camps.

 

The statement indicated that the AA will continue pursuing the defined military objectives and escalate operations depending on the military response.
