Overcoming the efforts of junta troops utilizing artillery shells and warplanes,
the Arakan Army (AA) has successfully captured the Mrauk-U district police
station of Rakhine State.
After the simultaneous attacks by AA members at Thu Taw Ma Taung military
camp and Mrauk-U district police station in Ngwe Taung Pauk, north of Mrauk-U
township by 3:55 am on 24 December and both locations were successfully
captured.
The Three Brotherhood Alliance declared on 26 December about the complete
capture of the police station.
"The AA has successfully captured the Mrauk-U district police station at
around 9 pm on Tuesday," added the statement.
Thu Taw Ma Taung military camp was also successfully captured on 25 December,
where from some dead bodies and weapons were recovered.
The 540th, 377th and 378th light infantry battalions along with number 31
border guard police battalion are stationed in Mrauk-U township. However, they
could not face the AA members except continued firing artillery shells.
The offensive by AA members is still going on to capture Khawea tactical
operation command base in Paletwa township of Chin State.
