In Rakhine State, the camps captured by the AA
include the Military Council's military camps, outposts, police stations, joint
military and police camps, and border guard outposts.
The number of captured camps is 17 in Paletwa Township, 6 in Buthidaung Township, 62 in Maungdaw Township, 1 in Sittwe Township, 7 in Kyauktaw Township, 3 in Mrauk-U Township, 4 in Rathedaung Township, 3 in Ponna Kyunt Township, 6 in Pauktaw Township, 5 in Minbya Township, 4 in Myebon Township, 3 in Ann Township, 7 in Kyaukphyu Township, 4 in Yanbye (Ramree) Township, 2 in Taungup Township, and 3 in Thandwe Township.
Among these bases are strategically important
locations such as the Tarawaing
tactical operation command base, the Nonebu tactical operation command base,
and the Myeik Wa-based military camp, situated near the Indian border.
It also involves 62 camps in the northern
section of Maungdaw Township, located in close proximity to the border with
Bangladesh, and among them are strategically important military bases.
It also consists of 3 camps from Thandwe
Township in the far south of Rakhine State, along with 2 camps from Taungup
Township.
In Rakhine State, the conflict began on
November 13 when the Arakan Army (AA) attacked two border guard outposts along
the Ah Ngu Maw-Maungdaw road in the southwest of Rathedaung Township.
