AA captures Nonebu tactical operation command base in Paletwa, finds soldier-bodies with arms and ammunition

The Arakan Army (AA) declared its complete capture of Nonebu tactical operation command base in Paletwa township of Chin State at 11:45 pm on 10 December.

On Monday, the AA issued a statement confirming the capture of the army base. It also added that the AA members found several bodies of soldiers belonging to the military council, including that of the base commander. A large volume of arms and ammunition was also seized during the operation.

On 14 November, both the heavily fortified Tarawaing and Nonebu tactical operation command bases faced the consecutive attacks by AA members. Tarawaing tactical operation command basewas successfully captured on 4 December. It took 21 days after the commencement of the operation for the success.

The operation commenced at 9:25 am on 14 November and after 27 days of continuous efforts, the entire Nonebu tactical operation command base was captured.

Despite encountering relentless counter attacks by the soldiers including continuous airstrikes and shelling during the offensive, the AA triumphed in capturing both the tactical operation command bases.

The AA also conveyed appreciation to its members who have made supreme sacrifices. It also honored the courageous warriors who displayed unwavering valour throughout the operation to capture Hnonebu tactical operation command base, which inflicted prolonged suffering and hardships on the local populace. The AA announced that the contributions of the fallen comrades will be sincerely honored and duly recorded.
