AA occupies two border guard posts in western Burma

 The Arakan Army (AA) resumes fighting against junta forces by attacking two border guard posts in Rathedaung township in Rakhine State  this morning.

 

At 5 am on Monday, the AA members simultaneously attacked and occupied two border guard stations in Don Pike and Chang Khali villages on Ah Ngu Maw-Maungdaw road.

 

A local eyewitness informed that the attack took place in the early morning around 5 am and the AA occupied Don Pike border guard post by 6 am. Later Chang Khali military camp was also recaptured by AA members.

 

The number of casualties from both sides is yet to be known.

 

After the battle, the Rathedaung based LIB (536) battalion opened fire with heavy weapons.

 

He also added that nearly one thousand villagers from five villages fled to safer places.

 

Now the fighting spreads to Min Pya township in central Rakhine State. Meanwhile two military vehicles caught fire after AA members launched the mine attack. Many soldiers are suspected to be killed and some have been detained.

 

The local residents informed that the junta forces have closed all the major roads in Rakhine State. The road connecting Sittwe from various rural areas remains closed.

 

The brotherhood alliance (comprising MNDAA, TNLA and AA) launched the offensive under the banner of Operation 1027 on 27 October in northern Shan, Kachin and Karenni States along with Sagaing division.Now gun fighting is going on almost everywhere in Myanmar.
