In Ramree Town, Kyaukphyu District, which is
governed by the Arakan Army (AA), two youths were murdered and five others were
injured while playing with a leftover bomb.
The youngsters who died were identified as
Maung Kaung Khant Naing, 17, from Aung Seik ward, and Maung Phyo Wai Soe, 16,
from Kin Te village.
They were drinking together at the Kin Chaung
Bridge when they picked up a leftover bomb.
The two teens were killed and five others were injured when
the device exploded while they were playing with it.
While they were toying with it, a bomb they
picked up nearby exploded. Five individuals were hurt, and two people died
instantly. "The parents are devastated," a family member added.
Social activists are highlighting the critical
need for more awareness as the number of people killed by unintentional
