A book titled ‘A Little Boy On Ramree Island’ on variuos Rakhine customs was released on 6 February at the American Amazon KDP books store.

Co-authored by Aung Zay Mong and his wife Jill Brock Mong, the English book was also bought by many people.

Content of the book includes the public life of Ramree Island after 1980 and also the rural landscape of the Rakhine region.

"The main reason for writing this book is to let the future generation of Rakhine know about the past. Interested people from all over the world can also read it. Rather than becoming the best seller, we want this book to be a record of the Laytaung village of Ramree island,” said the author.

The book with 34 chapters in 385 pages is priced at $6.99 for the e-book, $12.99 for the regular and $19.99 for the hardcover one.

Currently, the book emerges as one of the best sellers. It is placed #1 on Amazon sale rank (new released teens & young adult adventure and adventures ebook). It is ranked #6 on the 100 best sellers and #95 on the teen and adult biography ebooks list.

The book can be ordered and read in all countries where the Amazon is available. It is also planned to be published and distributed in Myanmar.

"We have a plan to make it available in Myanmar too, but we don't know how the existing political situation impacts it,” added the author.

Mentionable is that author Aung Zay Mong is a native of Laytaung village under Ramree township of Rakhine State. He moved to Ohio in the United States of America during 2010.
