Three Chin youths, arrested by the junta forces from  Gant Gaw Taung village near Kyeintali town under Gwa township of Arakan State, have gone missing.

The arrested individuals include Maung Thet San Htet, his brothers Maung Htoo Htoo San and Maung Lin Lin San. They all are around 16 years old, said a local resident.

They were picked up by junta soldiers from the road near their village while fleeing Gant Gaw Taung at around 8  pm on 6 September.

"Gant Gaw Taung village is surrounded by the junta forces and the village is fully blocked.

As the soldiers were arresting young people, they attempted to flee during the night hours. Now there is no communication with them since their arrest. The families are worried about them,” added the resident.

The detained youths were transported to a battalion based in Gwa via Ku Lar Pyin village. It remains unclear which battalion is detaining them.

The residents report that the gun fighting continues in Kyeintali locality and the surrounding areas.

Additionally, the battalions based in Gwa have been reinforced in Ku Lar Pyin village and the junta sent reinforcements from Ku Lar Pyin to Gant Gaw Taung village.
