AA captures Yan Aung Myin outpost in northern Maungdaw



The Arakan Army (AA) captured Yan Aung Myin outpost in northern Maungdaw locality on Saturday.


The AA in a statement issued yesterday also added that the AA fighters found a number of bodies there. They also seized a large volume of  military equipment, weapons, and ammunition during the operation.

 

Yan Aung Myin outpost, situated west of Kyein Chaung, has been fully captured and there is an ongoing offensive targeting Kylein Chaung camp, which has been partially captured.

 

"On 24 March 2024, Kyein Chaung border guard station in Maungdaw township, Rakhine State, was besieged and attacked by the AA fighters for almost a month. The offensive was intensified in recent days to capture the outpost. During the two days of the escalated offensive, the said outpost was partially captured. Yan Aung Myin outpost, located west of Kyein Chaung, was completely captured on 23 March, resulting in the discovery of enemy bodies and seizure of military equipment, weapons, and ammunition," said the statement.

 

The AA fighters are also attacking Ta Man Thar outpost in northern Maungdaw locality chasing down fleeing junta soldiers and has discovered over 20 enemy bodies and seized weapons and ammunition, added the statement.
