The Arakan Army (AA) on Monday announced
that it has captured
Taroaing Tactical Command Center located at Paletwa township, a
strategically important military base
located in western border
of Myanmar near the international border with
Bangladesh and India.
Mentionable is that the AA members targeted the military base at 6
am on 14 November and it was successfully captured by 1 pm on 4 December last.
Spanning approximately 21 days, the offensive by AA members resulted in the fall of Taroaing Tactical Command Center. The success came after sacrifices of many AA members when the junta forces relentless used airstrikes, artillery shelling, and even chemical warfare agents.
The AA statement also added that
it seized enemy bodies, arms & ammunition
along with military
equipments.
The next target for AA members is Hnonebu Tactical
Command Center in Paletwa Township in Chin state.
The AA also paid tributes to their members, who made supreme
sacrifices in the battle, for whose courage and skills the organisation has
occupied the centre with two helipads.
It emphasised on the need for
‘Defenders of Our Fatherland’, the individuals
who love Arakan State and want to
secure the recently captured junta’s hill-based
camps as well as those abandoned border
camps.
By this statement, the AA invites young
individuals with a strong sense
of nationalism and responsibility
to come forward and
serve the nation.
The battle in Pauktaw township, 16 miles east of Rakhine state capital Sittwe, continues
with a sustained effort to defeat
the junta forces.
