YDF collaborates with AA on Rakhine front-line

Yaw Defense Force (YDF) is collaborating with the Arakan Army (AA) on the Rakhine front-line, said a YDF official. Talking to  Narinjara News, he also claimed that the junta forces were retreating after defeats in a number of battles.

"The military junta is on the verge of defeat. When we attempted to seize their hill-based camps, they retreated within four to five minutes after our initial gunfire. They've abandoned the defensive
positions indicating a significant loss of morale," added the YDF official.

For more than two years, the YDF  has been cultivating an alliance with the AA based on mutual aid & trust. Previously, the AA provided training for the YDF members. Now, the AA is  assisting them in
attaining a level of self-reliance in training.

"Our comrades excel in capturing battalions in Kyauktaw, although it hasn't been publicized due to time constraints. We were also involved in seizing Kyauktaw's MOC-9 and the Kan Sauk artillery battalions,” said the official.

The YDF and AA members are presently collaborating and deepening their cooperation. The YDF has been actively engaged in numerous battles across the Rakhine region, including those  in Samee, Mrauk-U and Kyauktaw. However, due to the security concern, the specific locations of ongoing gun fighting is not disclosed at this moment,” he added.

"Both the YDF and AA fighters possess the capability to effectively fight against the junta soldiers. There have been casualties on our side also. Nevertheless, the YDF has been able to execute it
effectively," stated the official.

During the attack on Taung Shay mountain tactical operation command base in Kyauktaw township of Rakhine State in the second week of December 2023, they fought bravely and engaged in the battle alongside the allied forces. They expressed deep gratitude to the AA for providing invaluable military experience and combat opportunities.
