The Arakan Army (AA) claimed that another naval ship belonging to the Myanmar
junta was captured during a naval battle in Minbya township of Rakhine State.
A statement issued by the AA on Tuesday also added that the
naval battle took place on 13 February near Thet Pone village under
Minbya township, following which one more junta vessel was captured.
During the week (7 to 13 February), five military vessels, comprising three
naval ships and two naval barges, were attacked by the AA fighters.
Four other military vessels were also damaged after the AA offensive, added the
statement.
Similarly on 12 February, the AA fighters targeted
another military vessel near Pale Pauk village under Minbya township.
These military vessels were used for firing artillery shells over the Rakhine
villages for a longer period. Their attacks led to the death of hundreds of
innocent Rakhine people. Many sustained injuries and a number of houses were
damaged.
