The ArakanArmy (AA) provided one-week rice-rations to 14 villages inhabited by Chinpeople in Minbya township of Arakan State.
“More than 280 houses were destroyedin the Chin villages under the Phon Thar Chaung region. We, the Arakan people'srevolutionary government, provided assistance to the affected families,” saidAA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha in a recent interview with Narinjara News.
He statedthat the United League of Arakan (ULA) collaborated with the Humanitarian andDevelopment Coordination Office (HDCO), Chin affairs department, policeauthorities and AA members along with the political and administrative staff toprovide this assistance.
“We are committed to providingprotection and assistance to all people belonging to different ethnicities andreligions living in Arakan State. We are a revolutionary government focused onhelping everyone, regardless of their race or religions, to address theirdifficulties as much as possible. Whenever an emergency arises, we respondurgently and extend our support,” added U Khaing Thukha.
In Min KuLan village-tract under Minbya, the heavy rains on 13 and 14 September causedthe mountain streams to overflow and the natural disaster destroyed 284 houses in 14 villages and affected thousands of families.
