The Arakan Army (AA) provided one-week rice-rations to 14 villages inhabited by Chin people in Minbya township of  Arakan State.

“More than 280 houses were destroyed in the Chin villages under the Phon Thar Chaung region. We, the Arakan people's revolutionary government, provided assistance to the affected families,” said AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha in a recent interview with Narinjara News.

He stated that the United League of Arakan (ULA) collaborated with the Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO), Chin affairs department, police authorities and AA members along with the political and administrative staff to provide this assistance.

“We  are committed to providing protection and assistance to all people belonging to different ethnicities and religions living in Arakan State. We are a revolutionary government focused on helping everyone, regardless of their race or religions, to address their difficulties as much as possible. Whenever an emergency arises, we respond urgently and extend  our support,” added U Khaing Thukha.

In Min Ku Lan village-tract under Minbya, the heavy rains on 13 and 14 September caused the mountain streams to overflow and the natural disaster  destroyed  284 houses in 14 villages and affected thousands of  families.
