4 seriously injured by junta’s airstrikes in Pauktaw

The junta forces recently conducted airstrikes on Kyein Khway Maw village under Pauktaw township of Rakhine State without any provocation.  Due to airstrikes, four individuals including an abbot were seriously injured by shrapnel.

 

The injured abbot of Kyein Khway Maw village monastery is over 90 years old. Other injured individuals include U Hla Sein (over 80), Maung Min Naing (16) and Daw Yai Sein Nu (42).

 

A Pauktaw resident  informed that an aircraft that came from Sittwe dropped a 500-pound bomb on the village by 1 am of 15 June.

 

"The junta forces conducted the  airstrike during  night hours. The abbot along with three displaced individuals sustained  injuries as the bomb fell near the monastery," added the resident.

 

The abbot received injuries on his face, U Hla Sein on his right thigh, Maung Min Naing on his calf and Daw Yai Sein Nu on right arm.

 

A  Sittwe resident revealed that they could hear sound of artillery firing  at 12 am of 15 June

from the police battalion and Kan Taw Gyi battalion.

 

A school building of  Kyein Khway Maw high school was also destroyed in the incident.

 

According to an AA statement, ten  residents of Pauktaw’s ward 1, Tha Win Chaung and Let Pan Pyar villages were injured in bombing attacks by drones and Y12 aircrafts which were carried out by the junta forces between  9 and 9:35 am on 11 June.
