Although the military council declared a one-week ceasefire beginning April 22, an elderly woman lost her life and two men were wounded in a suicide drone strike by junta forces in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State.

The individual who passed away was Daw Ma Yin Nu, aged over 60, from Kulabar village, while she was seeking refuge as an IDP in Yenangtaung village, Kyaukphyu Township.

The military council's Dhanyawady Naval Headquarters in Kyaukphyu targeted Yenangtaung village three times with a suicide drone yesterday, April 24, at approximately 3pm.

Due to the bombing, a bomb detonated close to U Hla San's residence, injuring Daw Ma Yin Nu, who was taking refuge inside, as well as two other men, one of whom was U Hla San from Yenangtaung village.

A resident of Kyaukpyu stated that Daw Ma Yin Nu passed away while en route to the hospital.

"The grandmother, who escaped the war, was brought to the hospital due to serious injuries."

A resident of Kyaukpyu remarked, 'The grandmother passed away midway to the hospital from critical injuries'."

He added that the condition of the two injured men is not life-threatening.

Several homes in Yenangtaung village were also affected by the bombing that day.

On April 19, at approximately 2 am, the military council's jet fighter struck Pyidawthar, Myothit, and Shan Ward in Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State four times, resulting in one death, over 20 injuries, and significant home destruction.

Similarly, on April 13, the military council's aircraft struck Kyauktaw, wounding three women, one of whom was a minor, and damaging at least five houses.

The military council initially announced a one-sided ceasefire from April 2 to 22 to facilitate earthquake relief and recovery, and subsequently extended it for an additional week starting April 22.

The military council conducted 409 military operations, which included airstrikes, in Rakhine State during the ceasefire, as reported by the AA's Humanitarian and Development Cooperation Office (HDCO).

According to the HDCO, one civilian lost their life, 28 were hurt, and 24 structures sustained damage.
