Myanmar President to confer honorary certificate to Allotaw Pyi abbot

Yangon, May 10:
Myanmar President Then Sein will confer honorary certificates on the chief abbot of Allotaw Pyi monasteries and patron of the Arakan National Relief Association Ven-Arriyawantha.

According to the Allotaw Pyi assistant abbot Ven-Kumara, the ceremony will be held at MICC Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on May 15. Altogether 10 monks and 27 common men will be given away the honorary certificates in the function.

“The honorary certificate of union level will be given to the monk in recognition to his social relief implementation programs. Such a certificate is offered to those who work for the benefit of the society without selfish interest. So this certificate is more dignitary than any other certificates,” said Ven-Kumara.

Abbot Allotaw Pyi monk has been implementing orphans’ schooling programs in Sittwe, Maungtaw and Minbya township, medical health care initiatives including eye-operation various townships of Arakan State, digging up wells & ponds and constructing roads & bridges for the benefit of common people.

Moreover offering millions of Kyat to the Giri storm affected families in Myaybon & Pauk Taw townships and 23 million Kyat to the victim families of Aung Takhon 3 ship sunk tragedy as donation also boost the image of the monk which inspired the Myanmar’s highest authority to offer the rare honour.

“This is an inspiring news that the Myanmar President will distribute the honorary certificates. It’s a great honour for the Arakanese community as a whole,” asserted Ven-Kumara.

On the other hand, Ven-Arriyawantha has opened 46 monasteries in Myanmar and continues working for the benefit of people irrespective of their race or religions in Bagan and Arrawaddy Division besides various Arakan townships.
