123 migrants rescued from south Thailand

The Thailand authority had recently rescued 123 migrants from a jungle in southern part of the country, where most of them are reportedly hail from Bangladesh. A Dhaka based news portal titled Banglanews24.com reported that the migrants claimed to be Bangladeshi nationals.

Quoting the Bangladesh embassy in Bangkok, the news portal revealed that 92 out of 123 migrants, rescued from Thailand’s Songkhla province on Friday, claimed themselves as Bangladesh habitants.

The Royal Thai Police already confirmed the information. Presently the detained migrants have been kept at Rathaphum police station of Songkhla.

According to the embassy sources, a consular team from Bangladesh embassy in Bangkok is scheduled to visit the Thai province to meet those Bangladeshi nationals.

Earlier 111 suspected migrants from Myanmar and Bangladeshi nationals were rescued from the same province by the Thailand police.
