The Peace Sangha Union (PSU) issued a statement
condemning the collaboration between the junta forces and Muslim terrorists in
committing war crimes like arson and killings in Buthidaung town of Rakhine
State. It also criticized unfounded blames put on the Arakha Army (AA) and
spreading of misinformation as well as propaganda to the international
community.
The PSU spokesperson Sayadaw stressed on avoiding unnecessary religious and
ethnic conflicts while combating the common enemy that is the military junta.
"Religious and ethnic conflicts are being
manipulated by the junta as a tool. In Buthidaung and Maungdaw towns, the
Muslim groups are being exploited both in political and military contexts to
escalate the conflict. This manipulation has led to a misunderstanding about
the revolution. There are misconceptions regarding the AA as well. We need to
be aware that ethnic conflicts will intensify and the revolution may be
destroyed if we forget the dictators, who are our common enemy," said
Sayadaw, a spokesperson for the PSU.
In the statement titled ‘Stop the brutal activities of the military junta and
terrorist Muslims’, the PSU criticized the military for training and
arming Muslim civilians in Buthidaung locality.
It also asserted that the military junta is
instigating terror activities among Muslims, deliberately fuelling ethnic
conflicts and riots between Muslims and Arakanese in Buthidaung and Maungdaw
towns.
"The junta forces are collaborating with terrorist Muslims, engaging in
war crimes like arson and killings in Buthidaung town. They are also
disseminating false information and propaganda to the international community
by putting blame on the AA. So the PSU condemns the despicable and
disgraceful actions of the military junta and its allied terror Muslim
groups," added the statement.
