Narinjara News, 19 October 2024

.Around 4 pm on October 18, there was an explosion at the Chinese consulate office in Mandalay.

About two feet of the tile roof near the water spout was damaged in the explosion, which occurred on the roof of the two-story consulate office building, according to a statement from the military junta.

According to the junta, the explosion happened on October 18, 2024, at approximately 4:30 pm at the Chinese consulate office in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay.

According to the statement, security personnel examined the area and verified that the explosion damaged around two feet of the tile roof next to the water spout.

Security authorities are collaborating with Chinese consulate officials to look into the cause of the explosion, the statement added.

The junta further stated that security personnel are stepping up essential security measures in response to the attack and are actively hunting down the terrorists who carried it out.

According to political commentators, China is providing military weapons to the terrorist military junta in addition to overtly supporting it. At the same time, ethnic armed groups opposing the junta are under pressure from China. Anti-Chinese sentiment is therefore growing in Myanmar. (Photo: Courtesy)
