It has been reported that the centenary of Khumi literature took place in Paletwa, Chin State.

The event took place in Paletwa Township today, April 25, at approximately 8 am.

A representative of the Paletwa Regional Administration stated, "Any cultural or religious activity in Paletwa is for the local community. The local residents also warmly greet and cordially invite the regional administrator personally. The current AA officials do not show bias based on ethnicity or religion. They regard one another on equal footing."

The ceremony saw the presence of committee members from the Paletwa Regional Khumi Literature and Culture Association, the Paletwa Township Administrator, political figures, township officials, and several department staff from ULA/AA.

A member of the Khumi ethnic community who participated in the event mentioned that Khumi literature and culture were extensively recognized in Paletwa during earlier administrations and that they are now permitted to celebrate openly under the present (ULA/AA) government.

"I am thrilled that the higher officials of (ULA/AA) personally visited and participated in the (100) Khumi literature and culture festival."

Paletwa Township hosts the Khumi, Khaung So, Anu, Mara, and Likham ethnic communities, along with the Rakhine and Burman ethnic groups.

Most of the population practices Christianity, but there are also followers of Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and various other religions.
