The Meteorology and Hydrology Department announced that four back-to-back earthquakes struck Mahlaing, Windwin, and Taungoo on the morning of April 11.
Today, April 11, at 11:28:53, a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred approximately 3 miles east-southeast of Mahlaing, located in the Meiktila District of the Mandalay Region, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Likewise, on this day, April 11, at 10:59:29, another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale occurred at a depth of 10 km, roughly 5 miles southeast of Windwin in the Meiktila District of Mandalay Division.
Additionally, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 km, roughly 13 miles west-northwest of Taungoo, at 09:02:20 this morning.
This morning (08:43:14), a 3.0 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 23 km, approximately 9 miles east-northeast of Wundwin in the Mandalay division.
A press release from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology states that 118 earthquakes have taken place since the 7.7 magnitude quake hit on March 28.
