The Arakan Army (AA) declared on April 5 that it fully seized the Nyaung Kyo Strategic Camp in the Bago Region on April 2, 2025.

It has been reported that the assault on the camp began on March 17, 2025, and continued for sixteen days.

Despite having the chance to keep assaulting the withdrawing Junta forces, the AA announced a unilateral ceasefire, halted attacks in those regions and demonstrated their adherence to their declaration.

Close to Nyaung Kyo, currently held by the AA, are several junta machinery and equipment manufacturing facilities such as Ka Pa Sa 5, 6, and 9 present a significant danger, according to Captain Zin Yaw CDM in a statement to the media.

The military council's Ka Pa Sa -5, 6, 9, and 16 are located in Ushit-Pin Township, Pandaung Township, to the west of the Bago Region.
