The ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army), classified as a terrorist organization, has allegedly murdered four men from the Khami minority in Maungdaw Township, northern Rakhine State, according to family sources.

The victims were recognized as U Maung Ba (41) from Oboro Village, Buthidaung Township; Maung Thar Aye Kyaw (17) from Guppi Village; Ko Maung Gyi (25) from Gandaru Village; and Ko Aung Naing Htun (19) from Myawaddy Village, Maungdaw Township.

They were reportedly killed by ARSA terrorists on the morning of March 29 while traveling from Myawaddy Village to Aung Gandaru Village in Maungdaw Township.

On March 30, locals discovered the bodies of the deceased on the Badga Taung Kyaw mountain pass road in the Mayu Mountain range.

The remains of the dead were discovered on the road leading to Gandaru Lower Village, Myawaddy Village, in Maungdaw Township.

Residents also reported that he sustained gunshot injuries to his legs and torso.

Key figures of ARSA, including their leader Attaullah, were apprehended by Bangladeshi security personnel close to the capital Dhaka, on March 16 and 17.

Even with the apprehension of its key leaders, the ARSA terrorist organization has not disappeared and has resumed operations in the Maungdaw border region.

On March 29, at approximately 2:00 pm, five Arakan Army members riding a motorcycle between Taungpyo and Mee Taik villages were attacked by around 60 ARSA members, resulting in the deaths of two AA members.

Even though the AA succeeded in securing the entire Maungdaw township on December 8, 2024, residents reported that the presence of Muslim armed factions like ARSA, RSO, and ARA continues to raise alarms in the region.

A Muslim leader in Maungdaw Township stated, "The attacks by ARSA will lead to numerous challenges for local Muslims in Maungdaw District ahead, affecting transportation and living conditions."

On January 4, ARSA attacked a three-wheeled vehicle traveling from Maungdaw to Zedi Pyin village in Rathedaung, resulting in one death and two injuries.

Furthermore, on December 5, 2024, ARSA assaulted Sinswe Ya village in Buthidaung Township, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old Daingat girl.
