Almost 200 million kyats have been gathered to pay for the medical costs of a young girl from Arakan State, who is battling serious kidney disease at Yankin Children’s Hospital in Yangon, according to her supporters.
The child's mother expressed that after Narinjara News published a report on March 11 regarding the family's financial struggles and need for medical assistance, the public started to donate.
The contributions have originated from multiple sources. The youth charity organization "Let's March Together with Unity" provided 30 million kyats, the Thai "Yoma Yin Khwin" charity contributed 21 million kyats, and the "Patriotic Youth of 17 Townships of Arakan State" charity from Malaysia donated 56 million kyats. Furthermore, around 9 million kyats were collected by Ma Tin Thidar Tun, a member of The Readers Academy, while the ASaw Family Foundation, headed by Miss Saw Myat Ei Khine from Arakan State, contributed 4 million kyats. Arakan State performer and vocalist Jue Htet Htet Aung, partnering with the Arakkha Generation Charity Association, donated 18 million kyats. In total, close to 200 million kyats have been gathered, with additional contributions from both local and global backers.
Ma Su Myat Hlaing, the founder of the youth charity organization "Let's March Together with Unity," expressed to Narinjara News, “Seeing this child left us profoundly saddened.
That’s the reason we chose to give. Once we obtained approval, we started gathering contributions. We merged the more than 20 million kyats we collected with the association's own resources to complete the donation.
