A member of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) was reportedly killed by men from the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) at a refugee camp in Ukhiya Township, Cox’s Bazar, on Sunday, according to The Daily Star, a Bangladeshi media outlet.
The individual who has passed away is Md Harun, 32, living in Block E-3 at Hakimpara camp.
Authorities have detained an individual, Badshah Mia, regarding the incident. The person arrested is likewise a resident of that same camp.
The incident occurred last night in Block E-3 of the Hakimpara refugee camp (Camp-14) in Ukhiya, according to Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Arif Hossain.
The OC stated that Harun was a member of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO).
As reported by police and leaders in the Rohingya community, Harun departed from ARSA to become a member of RSO several months prior. They believe this was the cause of the attack.
The OC stated that the body has been dispatched to the morgue of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
He mentioned that an operation was in progress to capture the other offenders.
Likewise, a community leader was killed by gunfire in a Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, around 8:00 pm on March 4.
The victim has been identified as Mohammad Noor, 25, son of Abu Syed, according to Ukhiya News.
He was killed while returning home from the grocery store of Mozammel Haque in the M-32 area of the Rohingya camp.
