On March 11, the 1st Military Region of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that allied forces struck a junta military column leaving Wet Lu Police Station in Natogyi Township, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region, resulting in the deaths of 25 soldiers and the capture of 14, including a major.
The statement indicates that approximately 200 soldiers from Division 101 of the junta, who left Wet Lu Police Station, were ambushed southwest of Kya Twin Boe village on March 9. The assault was conducted by Battalions 4 and 10 from Myingyan District, the Natogyi People’s Defense Force (PDF), along with allied groups.
"Twenty-five junta troops died and 14 were taken prisoner, among them Major Win Hlaing Oo and Captain Aung Ko Ko," the statement noted.
Along with the casualties, the allied forces confiscated multiple weapons, two laptops, and two communication devices.
The statement further indicated that amid the conflict, the junta's aircraft, which had departed from Meiktila and Tada-U, executed two aerial attacks.
Two PDF members from Natogyi Township were martyred in the conflict.
