According to military sources, intense clashes continue between the Arakan Army (AA) and junta forces in Thabaung Township, located in Pathein District, Ayeyarwady Region.
Beginning in the early hours of February 27, clashes have persisted between junta troops and AA-led allied forces in the villages of Kin Poon Chin, Thabaung Lay, Khway Kote, and Ah Nan Kone, located near Kin Poon Chin mountain, approximately two furlongs from Thae Phyu (East) village in Thabaung Township.
A military source stated that the combat continued to be fierce until 4 pm on February 27.
"The clash is fierce at the moment and advancing toward Thabaung Town. There was a short break for approximately thirty minutes, but it has restarted and continues to be intense," the source stated.
At present, approximately 200 junta troops are stationed close to the villages where combat is intense, getting ready for defense.
Furthermore, junta troops are carrying out military activities in the Let Khoke, Khay Nan, Tha Yet Kone, and Ma Yan Cho villages located in Thabaung Township.
On February 25, at approximately 6 pm, fierce clashes broke out between AA-led allied troops and junta forces executing military operations near Kin Poon Chin mountain, close to Thae Phyu (East) village in Thabaung Township.
The AA has executed attacks near Thabaung, Ngathainggyaung, and Shwethaungyan towns in the Ayeyarwady Region.
