Clashes continue between allied forces led by the Arakan Army (AA) and junta troops, situated 14 miles from Ngathainggyaung town in Yegyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region, and 5 miles from the 344th Artillery Battalion.
A military source in the area stated, “Clashes began yesterday afternoon in a location known as Sar Ou San, roughly 5 miles away from the 344th Artillery Battalion. There are supply warehouses for the junta located there."
During the conflict, it is reported that junta troops are utilizing powered parachutes for aerial assaults.
The military source indicated that worries are increasing within the military because of the current weak manpower of the 344th Artillery Battalion.
“We’ve received reports indicating there are concerns in the military regarding the 344th Artillery Battalion being understaffed. There are fears that the clash might escalate to the battalion, leading to heightened worry, particularly in Ngathainggyaung town," the source added.
At present, the junta is getting ready for a significant defense at the Yae Nant Thar checkpoint in Yegyi Township, which is situated just before the 344th Artillery Battalion. This checkpoint holds strategic importance, being situated at the junction of the route from Arakan State and the one from Oke Shit Pin (Pathein-Monywa junction).
Residents stated that airstrikes took place in the villages of Kyar Gaung and Kin Pon Chin roughly a week ago, leading to the destruction of numerous homes by fire.
