Junta Forces on Ambush Patrol in Kyaukphyu Open Fire on Motorcycle, Resulting in One Civilian Death and Injuries to Two Others

On February 9, an ambush patrol of terrorist junta forces shot at a motorcycle transporting civilians in Kyaukphyu Town, Arakan State.

The assault led to the death of one traveler and injured two others, which included a woman nearby. 

At approximately 6:30 am on February 9, junta troops executing an ambush patrol fired upon a motorcycle making its way from Saing Chon to Shauk Chaung village in Kyaukphyu Township, instantly killing U Aung Than (54) and severely injuring U Than Myint (56). 

A nearby woman, Daw Ma Kyu (50), who was traveling from Saing Chon to Shauk Chaung to sell her goods, sustained injuries in the attack as well. 

After the shooting, the junta forces moved the corpse of the deceased along with the two injured people, including Daw Ma Kyu, to Saing Chon village. There, they faced threats and were subsequently taken to the Dhanyawadi naval base in Thit Pote Taung that evening.
