A report from the Burmese Women's Union (BWU) reveals that in January 2025, the terrorist military regime resulted in the deaths of 86 women throughout Myanmar, with Arakan State recording the most fatalities at 39 women.
BWU data monitoring indicates that in January 2025, 39 women were murdered in Arakan State, 11 in Shan State, and 10 in Sagaing Region, making Arakan State the area with the most fatalities.
The BWU stated that the military government has intensified airstrike activity this month and is engaging in different types of violence.
The BWU also mentioned that four years have elapsed since the military coup, and the terrorist military regime continues to perpetrate extensive human rights abuses, including war crimes and crimes against humanity, resulting in women losing their lives every day.
