26 bodies of Muslim recovered after junta’s airstrikes on Kyauk Ni Maw village: AA

The Arakan Army (AA) news and information released a statement on 10 January stating that 26 Muslim civilians were killed, 27 others were injured as the junta conducted  airstrikes on Kyauk Ni Maw village under Ramree township of Arakan State.

The statement indicated that 12 sustained serious to moderate injuries and others received minor injuries. The airstrikes took place between 9 and 9:30 am on 8 January when 15 bombs were dropped three times and the incident destroyed 398 houses as well.

The  airstrikes conducted by the junta’s fighter jets sparked massive fires at Taung Pine, Ah Lel Pine and Myauk Pine wards of Kyauk Ni Maw village. Even  several elderly people and children were trapped in the fire.

The AA statement apprehended that the number of casualties may increase as many people remain traceless. The updated list of casualties will be made public soon, added the statement.
