Gun fighting intensified as the Arakan Army (AA) and its allied forces launched an offensive on Kan Myint Kan and Nat Yae Kan camps, located on the border of Arakan State and Magway region.

“After the AA fighters pursued the junta soldiers fleeing from Taung Sauk mountains and the battle field, the gun fighting reached Kan Myint Kan checkpoint and Nat Yae Kan camp. The Kan Myint Kan camp is currently at the risk of falling very soon,” said a military source from Ann locality.

A local Chin national informedNarinjara News that the junta's artillery camp in Padan town has been providing continuous support to the fighting in the Arakan mountains using multiple launch rocket systems, which is capable of firing 12 rockets at a time.

“The artillery camp in Padan is continuously firing from MLRS and tanks. The shells are exploding across the Arakan mountains and surrounding areas,” he added.

The junta soldiers are conducting airstrikes with the fighter jets near Taung Sauk and other areas in the Arakan mountains, where the fighting takes place.

“They dropped bombs using fighter jets this morning and also carried out airstrikes last evening. The airstrikes targeted areas near the Chinese gas pipeline, including Taung Sauk mountain camp, where the pipeline is located, along with  areas in the Arakan mountains near Kan Myint Kan and Nat Yae Kan,” he explained.

Between the Kan Myint Kan checkpoint in Ann locality and Nat Yae Kan camp in Magway, the smaller checkpoints like  Ma Htone, Auk Tone, and Ah Htet Tone were already occupied by the AA fighters.

The local residents reported that around 200 junta soldiers were stationed at the Kan Myint Kan checkpoint. Nat Yae Kan camp, which is larger than Kan Myint Kan, had heavy artillery deployment and many reinforcements were made from Ngape township.

At the same time, the Magway region witnesses the offensive from People’s Defense Force (PDF) personnel against the junta reinforcements.

The AA fighters have already captured several checkpoints on the Arakan mountains in Ann locality including Pel Pa Don, Pat Kwae, Sin Khon Taing, Taung Sauk, Ah Myauk Gyi, Nga Pyel, Kyet Yae San, and Pain Yae San. They continue their offensive on Kan Myint Kan and Nat Yae Kan checkpoints, planning to drive out the junta forces from the Arakan mountains.
