A social worker informed Narinjara News that 60 displaced families from Arakan State, comprising 150 individuals, are presently residing in Lemyethna Township, Hinthada District, Ayeyarwady Region, and are experiencing considerable hardships in their livelihoods.
"They are residing in tents on sandy areas by the creek in Le Khon Gyi village, Kwin Gyi village-tract, Lemyethna Township. Sixty families make up a total of 150 individuals. They urgentlyneed assistance, such as food, medicine, warm clothing, and blankets,” the social worker explained.
A Sayadaw, a socially active Buddhist abbot, is assisting the displaced families by supplying 6 pyi of rice to every family. Nonetheless, he remarked that he was unable to help every family because of the high demand.
“On the previous Monday, a Sayadaw offered help. He mentioned that he could only provide 6 pyi of rice for each family, but it wasn't sufficient to assist all the families. They are unemployed, putting them in urgent need of assistance,” the social worker remarked.
The displaced people are escaping from Thandwe and Gwa townships located in Arakan State. Included in this group are children and the elderly, all of whom face challenges in their struggle for survival.
A Thandwe resident informed Narinjara News that approximately 150 displaced individuals are residing in tents in Lemyethna Township and encountering significant challenges in their livelihoods.
