APG Offers Food Aid to People at Ah Nauk Ye Muslim IDP Camp in Pauktaw

The Arakan People's Government (APG) has supplied food aid to the residents of the Ah Nauk Ye IDP camp located in Pauktaw Township, Arakan State.

On January 6, the APG's Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO) released a statement announcing that, on January 4, food assistance was given to 140 households in urgent need at the Ah Nauk Ye IDP camp.

"On January 4, 2025, local authorities from the Arakan People's Government (APG) delivered food aid to people residing in the Ah Nauk Ye IDP camp in Pauktaw Township, Arakan State, since 2012," the announcement stated.

The statement highlighted that ongoing food aid and consistent access to essential health care would significantly benefit the families residing in the camp.

Furthermore, the statement indicated that actions are underway to address these needs by engaging with humanitarian groups and individuals.

Ah Nauk Ye Muslim Village is located on Ah Lel Pha Yone Kar Island within Pauktaw Township and mainly relies on fishing as its primary livelihood.

Nevertheless, the residents are experiencing hardship as junta navy ships on the Kaladan River apprehend fishermen and confiscate their boats and nets.
