8 days after the fall of Maungdaw, Myanmar ship carrying 114 tons of frozen fish arrives in Bangladesh

A cargo ship from Myanmar carrying 114 tons of frozen fish arrived at Teknaf port in Bangladesh eight days after the Arakan Army (AA) captured the 5th Border Guard Police Battalion (NaKhaKha-5) in Maungdaw town of Arakan State.

"Eight days after the capture of Maungdaw, a cargo ship carrying 114 tons of frozen fish from Myanmar arrived at Teknaf Port," confirmed Teknaf Upazila officer SK Ahsan Uddin.

He revealed that the ship came from Yangon and arrived on Sunday. The shipment was owned by four traders from Teknaf locality.

After the necessary procedures including revenue collections the fishes were transported to Dhaka and Chattogram.

Meanwhile, three other cargo ships from Myanmar, which were stucked in Bangladesh for a week and even unloaded, have yet to return back. These ships remain anchored in the Naf river.
