The military regime has ramped up air raids across Arakan State, with recent strikes on two residential villages between October 30 and November 2, killing nine civilians and wounding ten others.

On November 2, the regime's air force bombed a monastery in Pyar Thar village, northern Maungdaw Township, controlled by the Arakan Army. The attack killed four people sheltering there and hurt two others, including an elderly monk.

The dead were named as Daw Ma Saw Yee (also called Daw Ma Sein Bu), 64; U Shwe Kyaw (also known as U Nyi Chey), 57; Maung Tun Tun Win, 17, who fled fighting in Maungdaw Town's No. 1 Ward; and U Maung Than, 64, from Maungdaw Town's No. 3 Ward.

The wounded include Ashin Tay Zaw Bar Tha, 72, from Maungdaw Town's Myoma Monastery, and U Tun Tun Naing, 47, from Maungdaw Town's No. 1 Ward.

Locals say a military jet hit Pyar Thar village twice on November 2 evening. The first strike at 7:13 pm exploded outside the village, while the second at 7:30 pm hit the monastery housing displaced people, causing multiple casualties.

The regime's air force reportedly bombs Rakhine State villages daily. On October 30, around noon, it targeted Moung village, about five miles south of Taungup Town, killing five people, including two 14-year-old girls.

Those killed were Ma Su Myat Win, 14; Ma Wutyi Win, 14; Daw Ma Kyan Tin, 48; Daw Kyan Tin, 49; and Ko Naing Lin Soe, 31, all from Moung village.

The injured from this attack were Ma Su Mar Phyo, 17; Daw Tin Aye, 65; Daw Khin Khin San, 47; U Maung Phyu Chey, 36; and U Thaung Aye, 56, also from Moung village.

Earlier, on October 21, five people, including a donor and a pregnant woman, died in an air raid on a home in Hpar Wut Chaung village during a Kahtain festival. This village is north of Pyar Thar village.

Experts on politics and military affairs said the regime has stepped up air attacks in Rakhine State after getting more support from China, which has supplied weapons, ammo, and planes.

In October alone, regime air raids on Rakhine State villages and wards killed over 60 people and wounded hundreds.
