The Arakan Army (AA) presently controls Thandwe
Town, Arakan State, where the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP)
office was the target of junta bombing. The building was destroyed by the
airstrikes, and a child was hurt.
Maung Phoe Cho, 14, of Thandwe Town's No. 8
ward, has been recognized as the injured child.
Around 5:00 am on October 25, a local neighbor
reported that the USDP office and numerous nearby structures were destroyed by
bombings carried out by the junta's fighter jet.
"A fighter plane conducted attacks on the
USDP office and the old military recruitment office at approximately five in
the morning today. Two bombs were dropped in all, and a toddler was struck by
shrapnel in a nearby home," the resident reported.
In addition to destroying the USDP office and
the military recruitment office, the attacks also damaged homes in the vicinity.
The Arakan Army (AA) still controls Thandwe
Town, and the junta is still attacking villages and residential areas with
aircraft.
In a separate event, the junta conducted
airstrikes on the environmental conservation office and the Thandwe township
hall around 7:40 a.m. on September 26. Thirteen people, including displaced
children, were killed in this incident, while twenty-five more were injured.
