4 people killed, 16 injured when Junta airstrikes target residential wards in Kyauktaw Town

Using a jet aircraft, the junta air force launched airstrikes on civilian houses in Kyauktaw Town, Arakan State, at around 4:00 p.m. on October 10.

 

At least two bombs detonated in Kyauktaw Town's Pyi Taw Tar Ward, injuring sixteen people and killing four civilians.

 

The owners of the "Pyine San Shar" gristmill in Pyi Taw Tar Ward, U Aye Kyaw, 43; U Kyaw Thein Hla, 53; U Tun Naing, 45; and Ma Thandar Aye, 18, from Ah Pauk Wa hamlet, have all been recognized as the deceased.

 

U Maung Khin Lwin, 52; Ma Cho Myat Maw, 8; U Tin Hla Thein, 34; Daw Ma Chey, 47; Ma Nan Thwe Khaing, 13; U Oo Than, 65; U Kyaw Win, 55; Ma Nwe Nwe Khaing, 24; Maung Maung Chey, 36; Maung Kyaw Thu Aung, 26; Daw Ye Ye Than, 46; Maung Khaing Kyaw Lin, 6; Daw Wai, 42

 

It is alleged that a number of the casualties are critically ill and severely injured.

 

The bombs totally demolished the "Pyine San Shar" and "Kyaw Zaw Li" gristmills, which were struck directly. At least five residences in the vicinity also suffered minor damage.

 

Last night, the junta carried out drone strikes on Tat Taung Town, which is situated in Ann Township, in addition to the airstrikes.
