31 junta soldiers killed, 42 PoWs captured, weapons seized in Budalin battle: SAF

The Student Armed Forces (SAF) claimed responsibility for a major attack in Budalin township of  Sagaing region on 1 October, where 31 junta soldiers were killed and  42 prisoners of war (PoWs) were captured. Moreover, a large volume of weapons and ammunition were also seized.

 

In media statement accompanying relevant photographs, the SAF added that the attack took place on 30 September, when a junta column that  departed from the military base in Ku Taw village under  Budalin township, was ambushed by the SAF and allied forces, resulting in  heavy casualties among the junta soldiers.

 

The ambush involved multiple armed groups, including the SAF, ULF, People's Defense Force Monywa district battalion-20, Budalin-PDF and local mobile forces.

 

Additionally, the Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF), People's Liberation Army (PLA), Yadanarpon Revolution Force (YRF) and 96 other fighters  joined the coordinated attack.

 

The SAF reiterated its commitment to fight for the rights of oppressed people and currently they are advancing towards the creation of a new state.
